Signs of Pregnancy

I think I'm pregnant!

It's not an old wives tale if you are feeling queasy, craving a specific food or running to the bathroom. Not all the time, but with many women these a few signs that they MAY be pregnant. Other women feel absolutely fine - and it isn't until they miss a period that they begin to suspect they may be pregnant.

Here are some physical signs that women have when they are pregnant.

So tired all the time - Pregnancy sometimes makes you absolutely exhausted, and all you want to do is SLEEP. This is one of the earlier signs of pregnancy, and while it isn't a for sure sign, in conjunction with other symptoms - it's a definite sign.

I feel sick to my stomach - many women, including myself, indeed feel sick to their stomachs. It can be a certain smell, or it won't be food - but when you get up in the morning, or even at night - it will hit you like a ton of bricks - and you feel nauseated. This feeling can hit a couple of weeks after conception or as early as a couple of days.

Olives, I want olives! - This is what I craved after five and a half months of morning sickness. I HAD to have olives! While it may not mean you're pregnant, it CAN be a sign coupled with some others that you are.

My breasts are so sore! - Like when you have your period, a woman's breast will sometimes become sore in those first few months. Once you body has gotten used to the changes in your body, the tenderness should go away.

I ALWAYS have to go to the bathroom! - There's a hormone called HCG or human chronic gonadotropin, which starts to produce once you become pregnant. This DOES make your urge to urinate more frequent.

I thought I saw some blood and I'm cramping too! Am I miscarrying? - After your body ovulates you may experience some spotting. It is normally a brownish or dark pink color, and it is called implantation bleeding or spotting. You may even cramp some. It may also occur around the time you would normally come on your period - but this is normal, and is caused by your egg resting deeper and deeper into the lining of your uterus. If you are really concerned, please don't hesitate to call your doctor.

I didn't get my period - Call your doctor or get to the drugstore and take a pregnancy test. If you're like most women, and you KNOW your body - and that period hasn't come yet - go take a that test!

If that stick turns blue, congratulations Mommy to be!!
