Leg Cramps During Pregnancy
Leg cramps are usually related to circulatory changes, pressure on the nerves in your legs, or low calcium. Here are some suggestions to may offer relief:

  • Walk. It helps relieve the cramping.

  • Stand with your legs straight and then bend your toes toward your head without bending your knees.

  • Elevate your feet when resting, if possible, at home and at work.

  • For leg cramps, flex your ankles and toes slowly while massaging your calf.

  • Avoid tight clothing.

  • If home, try soaking your feet in hot water.

  • Wear low heeled shoes.

  • Rest. Especially if you stand for long hours during the day.

  • If pain persists, speak with your docotr or midwife about calcium or magnesium additions to your diet.
