Treating Stretch Marks Naturally

Stretch marks are one of those things that is almost completely unavoidable.  Even if you are careful to gain weight at a steady pace during pregnancy, the fact of the matter is that the growing that your baby needs to do in nine months is more than your skin can handle without stretching out a bit.  Pregnancy, while it certainly is a naturally occurring phenomenon, is also rather traumatic on a woman’s body.  The impact of pregnancy is felt for a long time, and we don’t just mean in terms of the child.

The best way to treat stretch marks naturally really have to do with come common healthy lifestyle choices.  For example, gaining the recommended amount of weight during pregnancy, and gaining it slowly and steadily can help.  Rapid weight gain will only exacerbate the stretch mark problem.  Keep in mind here that you should still be gaining the required amount of weight, as not gaining enough weight can be harmful to both you and to your baby.  In addition to helping both your health and your baby’s health, eating a balanced and healthy diet can help to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy.  Specifically, good nutrition will help to strengthen your skin and to make it healthier, and help it to stretch easier and to contract back after you have given birth.  

There are also natural products that you can use to treat those stretch marks when the do arrive.  These will generally take the form of lotions or creams.  These typically will rely on a variety of natural ingredients, such as avocado butter, shea butter, and olive oil.  They may also include certain herbs such as chamomile, and other ingredients like Vitamin E that can help to treat your stretch marks naturally.

While not all of the ways to treat stretch marks naturally will work for every woman, they may be worth a try if you want to get rid of those unsightly stretch marks.
