This is a fun take on the Murder game where hand squeezing instead of winking is what kills you. If you are the murderer and kill everyone before they find out who you are, then you win. If the rest of the group finds you first, the team wins.
All of the players need to sit in a circle close enough to hold hands. A piece of paper is folded for each person playing. Only one has an “X.” If you draw the “X” you are the murderer. To start killing people you squeeze the hand of the person to your left or right a number of times. They then squeeze the hand of the person on the other side of them the same number of times minus one. When it gets to one squeeze, then that person is dead, and needs to die in a dramatic way. For example, say you are the Murderer. Think of who you want to kill. If it is the person 4 players to your right, you would squeeze the persons hand to your immediate right 4 times. They still will not know you are the murderer, because you could have received 5 squeezes and are just passing on the next four. The person on your immediate right then squeezes the hand of the next person on their right 3 times. That person then squeezes the hand of the person on their right 2 times, and so forth. The person receiving one squeeze only dies. The squeezing can start either to the left or right, but continues in the same direction until some one dies. After killing someone, the murderer then starts the sequence again, maybe using 2 squeezes this time. He can even choose one squeeze and kill the person next to him. When someone suspects they know who the murder is, then they say “I suspect that (person’s name) is the murderer.” Someone must then second it. If they are right, the murderer is caught. If not, they both die and are out of the game.
The murderer must be careful not to let anyone see him squeeze someone’s hand, however, the observer doesn’t know if that was the first squeeze or not and may falsely accuse someone.
Many men and women are in the Navy, so for those moms-to-be that are either enlisted, or their husbands are a great baby shower theme is the Navy. With this theme you can incorporate the color as well as the branch of the armed forces. There are so many creative things you can do with a Navy themed baby shower that it would work for moms-to-be expecting a little girl or a little boy.
Decorations When decorating for your Navy baby shower you will certainly want to use the color navy as the major color with accents of baby blue if it is a shower for a baby boy, accents of pink if the shower is for a baby girl, or accents of white or yellow for parents who don’t know the sex of the baby. Tablecloths, balloons, streamers and the like can all be used with these colors and really enhance the shower location. For the cake you will certainly want to have something Navy inspired. This can be as creative as you like and as creative as the baker can make it. There are plenty of Navy inspired items you can buy to enhance the cake as well. Other refreshments can include a fruit plate, finger sandwiches, nuts, punch, and the like.
Navy Games Granted a Navy baby shower can be a lot of fun and honor mom and dad, but you want to play games too. Fortunately, with a Navy shower you can do just that. A great game to play is a Navy trivia game and you can make the questions about any aspect of the Navy, from football to enlistment numbers. Regardless, it will be a lot of fun. The individual with the most correct answers is the winner. This person will receive a Navy bumper sticker, t-shirt, or whatever else you find appropriate.
Baby showers are all about the presents for the new mom to be and her baby that has yet to arrive. Presents can be the practical ones that include strollers, diapers, clothes, and bottles. You can also opt for more of a personal gift that may include one or two gifts that are just for the mom to be. Give that new mom a coupon for a night out with you as the babysitter. This will make the mom feel like she is having a mother to be shower and not just a baby shower.
When it comes to wrapping the baby gifts, your creative side may come into play. A diaper cake is a popular item for a baby shower. These cakes can be bought online or you can try doing one up yourself. Get together with a couple of the new mom’s closet friends and plan all that should be added to that diaper cake. Besides the diapers, put receiving blankets, bottles, bibs, or even stuffed animals in the cake arrangement. All of the baby items can be used over and over again. This is a feature that any new mom to be will love. You can have your diaper cake decorated to fit a new baby girl or a new little boy or just a baby friendly one for those moms who chose to wait until delivery to find out what they are having.
Other presents can be wrapped in various ways. Consider buying wrapping paper with rattles or bottles on it and have all of the baby shower guests write a personal note to the new mom to be. All of the gifts can either have all the guests’ notes on them (which will require a get together before the big day) or each guest can wrap their own gift and personalize it alone. Wrap your gifts according to the party theme. If it is a Disney theme, then buy that type of wrapping paper or that particular type of bow and wrap your gift. You can also attach a baby item to your gift including a rattle or a teething ring.
Any new mom to be loves to get presents for her new bundle of joy. It makes it an even more special occasion if those gifts are personalized. Get all of the baby shower guests involved with the gift-wrapping to ensure that the new mom you are celebrating has an unforgettable time at her baby shower.
Experienced mothers will have an advantage in this game. You may even want to test dads to see how well they can care for a fussy baby and still do the chores. The materials for this game are a baby doll (or stuffed bear), a cordless or cellular phone, baby or doll clothes, clothes pins, and a clothes line that is held by two people or tied up someplace. Each guest takes a turn holding the baby in one arm, while taking on the phone and hanging up the baby clothes. The person who hangs the most clothes in one minute without dropping the baby wins.
The hostess who is throwing a baby shower has a very important job. As part of this job, the hostess must choose a theme which is perfect for the mother-to-be. If the guest of honor is having a baby boy, what better theme to use for this occasion than one which typifies boys and that is a Tonka truck theme. These types of trucks have been around for decades and have delighted infinite numbers of boys all over the world. Therefore, a Tonka truck theme is the perfect theme for a baby shower to welcome in a little boy who is on the way.
Rough and Tumble Decorations with Elegant Features There are ways in which the hostess can utilize Tonka trucks yet still keep the party quite appropriate for its many female guests. A great way to tie in the Tonka truck theme is to use a Tonka truck in the centerpiece. A big Tonka dump truck can be placed in the center of each table and have a potted flowering plant sitting in the rear portion of the truck. Great colors to use when going with a Tonka truck theme are yellows, blues, and whites but it never hurts to throw in some more feminine colors as well. A cake shaped as a Tonka truck is the perfect finish to a party with this particular theme.
Games with a Tonka Truck Twist A great baby shower game which can be played that utilizes a Tonka truck in the preparations thereof is the Guess How Many game. To prepare this game, the hostess will fill a big Tonka dump truck with small colored stones, which can easily be acquired from any local craft store. The hostess will count the stones ahead of time so that she knows exactly how many are in the back of the Tonka truck. At the party, each guest will have to guess how many stones are in the back of the truck. The guest who comes closest to the correct number wins a prize.
A baby shower which has a Tonka truck theme to it simply screams out “boy” and will delight the mother-to-be and all of the guests as well.
