Perhaps some of the most beloved songs for babies and older children come in the form of nursery rhymes. This is why the nursery rhyme theme is a wonderful plan for a baby shower, especially one for an expectant mother who does not yet know if she is having a boy or a girl.
Nursery Rhyme Decorations
When starting to plan for the baby shower, the hostess needs to first decide on proper invitations. Some cute invitations to send out may include ones with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Humpty Dumpty on them. As for the area in which the baby shower is to be held, a great way in which to decorate this room is to have a different nursery rhyme theme for each table. For example, one table may be Mother Goose while another table might be the Baa Baa Black Sheep table. As for table decorations, the hostess can tailor the individual decorations at each table to their specific nursery rhyme, including everything from the centerpieces on down to the party favors. Balloons that feature various nursery rhyme characters can be spread throughout the room and the cake can feature one or many characters from our favorite nursery rhymes.
Games with a Nursery Rhyme Twist
As for the games that are going to be played at the shower, one particular game that can have a nursery rhyme theme is Guess That Nursery Rhyme. The hostess will hand out pens and paper to everyone and will then proceed to call out individual lines from a variety of nursery rhyme tunes. The guests who get the most correct answers win a prize.
The nursery rhyme theme is one that can have unique characteristics and be suitable for the mom-to-be who does not yet know the sex of the baby.
