Baby Shower Game - Pick a Number

Guessing games are always fun and easy. With this numbers game, you can have a jar by the door, along with the door prize the person making the best guess will win.

Put multiple baby-related objects in a jar and have the guests write their name and the number they think is there on a piece of paper. The person guessing closest to the correct number wins the door prize.

You can use items such as: 1.Cotton balls 2.Q-tips 3.Diaper pins 4.Pink and blue jelly beans 5.Plastic miniature baby dolls (found at party stores in the shower section) 6.Mini-pacifiers (found at party stores in the shower section) 7.Mini-baby blocks (found at party stores in the shower section) 8.Bubble gum cigars 9.Pink and blue mints 10.Pink and blue ribbons

Baby Shower Game - Creative Writers

You may have a group of talented writers right there at your party and not even know it! This game gives you a chance to get your creative juices flowing as you add on to each other’s sentences.

You will need a notebook and pen to play. The host can start by writing 3 or 4 sentences to start the story. The last sentence is written on the next page, so the next person cannot read anything but the last sentence. The next person then adds 3 or 4 sentences to the one they can see, but puts their last sentence on the next page, and so forth. After you have gone around the room, have someone read the story to the group.

Baby Shower Game - I Have Never

A fun way to get to know everyone else is to play “I have Never…” In this game it is good to have never done something that many other people may have done. To play, give each guest a bunch of tokens, such as pennies, buttons, paperclips, etc. The host then says, “I have never…” and finishes the sentence with something like, “been swimming in a lake.” Anyone else in the group who has been swimming in a lake, must give that person one of their tokens. The person with the most tokens after everyone has had a turn wins the game.

Baby Shower Game - Baby Scrabble

Baby shower games are a great addition to any baby shower to make the event even that much more fun for all who attend. Baby Scrabble is one such game which will entertain and delight the crowd. It is a wonderful interactive game which will test the knowledge of the guests and possibly award them with a prize in the end.

Items Needed to Play Baby Scrabble
Depending on how many guests are going to be attending the baby shower, the hostess will need to bring enough Scrabble boards to accommodate all of the individuals. If the hostess only has one Scrabble board, she probably won’t need to go out and purchase extra boards as she may be able to borrow some Scrabble games from friends and family members. The idea behind Baby Scrabble is to play Scrabble as one normally would yet only be able to make up words which relate to childbirth, parenting and of course, babies.

How to Award Prizes to the Winners and What Types of Prizes Should Be Awarded
The hostess can arrange the prizes in a number of ways. Perhaps the easiest way to award prizes is to have a prize or two handed out to the guest(s) with the highest score(s) at each table at the end of the Scrabble round. Some wonderful prizes to award at a baby shower are picture frames, candles or Bath and Body Works baskets.

Baby Scrabble is a fun game to play which ties in real nicely with the overall baby shower theme.

Baby Shower Game - Book of Advice

This can be one as just an activity or a game with one winner. It is the perfect way to give new parents advice. They can have a wealth of good baby information at their fingertips day or night and choose to use it or not without offending any friends or family. It will also make a nice keepsake of all the guests that attended, even older ones you will remember for their great advice many years down the road.

Ahead of time, purchase a nice blank book with a fabric or decorative cover. Pass it around the party and ask the guests to each write their best baby advice. To make it a game, ask the parents to select the one piece of advice they didn’t think they could do without. The author is the prize winner.
