During the month of December, many individuals are busy getting into the Christmas spirit. For those mothers-to-be who are expecting a child in January or February, their baby shower may indeed be celebrated in December. What better way to get into the Christmas spirit and celebrate the future arrival of a new baby boy or girl than have a Christmas-oriented baby shower?
Decorate with Christmas Flair
There are so many decorative ideas which can make a Christmas-inspired baby shower simply perfect. Poinsettias make wonderful centerpieces and accents for around the room when it comes to a Christmas style baby shower. A great idea with regard to guest party favors is to purchase Christmas ornaments which have the name of the mother-to-be on them and the date of the baby shower, along with any other pertinent information the hostess wishes to include. The color scheme which can be used for a baby shower with this type of theme is red and green, of course. If the hostess wishes to dress it up a little, throwing in some gold and/or silver decorations will make the room look a bit flashier.
Baby Shower Games
One particular baby shower game which can have a Christmas overtone to it is the Possible Baby Name Game. With this game, the hostess will prepare sheets of paper with CHRISTMAS listed vertically down the left-hand side of the page. The guests and mother-to-be will have 5-10 minutes to list both a boy and girl name for each letter of the word. The individual with the most answers in common with the mother-to-be wins a prize. Prizes for baby shower games can be centerpieces, Christmas angel figurines, or even ceramic ornaments.
