Baby Shower Game - If I Were You

Give each guest a small piece of paper. On one side, have them write down a common problem or dilemma that new parents often face. They cannot share or discuss their ideas with each other. Ask them to turn their paper face down when they’re done. Now have your guests pass the paper – FACE DOWN – three people to their left. Without looking at the question on the other side, ask your guests to write the solution or answer to their original problem. Read the questions and answers out loud for lots of laughs.

Baby Shower Theme - Christmas Theme

During the month of December, many individuals are busy getting into the Christmas spirit. For those mothers-to-be who are expecting a child in January or February, their baby shower may indeed be celebrated in December. What better way to get into the Christmas spirit and celebrate the future arrival of a new baby boy or girl than have a Christmas-oriented baby shower?

Decorate with Christmas Flair
There are so many decorative ideas which can make a Christmas-inspired baby shower simply perfect. Poinsettias make wonderful centerpieces and accents for around the room when it comes to a Christmas style baby shower. A great idea with regard to guest party favors is to purchase Christmas ornaments which have the name of the mother-to-be on them and the date of the baby shower, along with any other pertinent information the hostess wishes to include. The color scheme which can be used for a baby shower with this type of theme is red and green, of course. If the hostess wishes to dress it up a little, throwing in some gold and/or silver decorations will make the room look a bit flashier.

Baby Shower Games
One particular baby shower game which can have a Christmas overtone to it is the Possible Baby Name Game. With this game, the hostess will prepare sheets of paper with CHRISTMAS listed vertically down the left-hand side of the page. The guests and mother-to-be will have 5-10 minutes to list both a boy and girl name for each letter of the word. The individual with the most answers in common with the mother-to-be wins a prize. Prizes for baby shower games can be centerpieces, Christmas angel figurines, or even ceramic ornaments.

Baby Shower Game - Pick Up the Prize

Teamwork is required in this game that will have you falling off your feet with laughter. The reward is a prize, if you can get to it before anyone else. Be careful though, you will need everyone else to help you get to where you can grab the reward.

First the group gets into a circle, facing outward and linking arms. A prize such as a candy bar, money, or other small gift, is placed in the center. The team must move in together to get to the prize. The person who grabs it first wins. This can be difficult because the group must work together to close up the circle tight enough for you to reach the prize, but you must get your hands into the center first to grab it without unlinking your arms. You can have several small prizes and put one at a time in the circle. Then once someone gets a prize they sit out. The next round would have one less person. By the last round it will just be two people, back to back, squirming for the prize!

Baby Shower Game - Pick a Number

Guessing games are always fun and easy. With this numbers game, you can have a jar by the door, along with the door prize the person making the best guess will win.

Put multiple baby-related objects in a jar and have the guests write their name and the number they think is there on a piece of paper. The person guessing closest to the correct number wins the door prize.

You can use items such as: 1.Cotton balls 2.Q-tips 3.Diaper pins 4.Pink and blue jelly beans 5.Plastic miniature baby dolls (found at party stores in the shower section) 6.Mini-pacifiers (found at party stores in the shower section) 7.Mini-baby blocks (found at party stores in the shower section) 8.Bubble gum cigars 9.Pink and blue mints 10.Pink and blue ribbons

Baby Shower Game - Creative Writers

You may have a group of talented writers right there at your party and not even know it! This game gives you a chance to get your creative juices flowing as you add on to each other’s sentences.

You will need a notebook and pen to play. The host can start by writing 3 or 4 sentences to start the story. The last sentence is written on the next page, so the next person cannot read anything but the last sentence. The next person then adds 3 or 4 sentences to the one they can see, but puts their last sentence on the next page, and so forth. After you have gone around the room, have someone read the story to the group.
