Halloween Baby Shower Theme - Pumpkin Patch Shower

What is a more fitting theme for an October baby shower than pumpkins? Transform your baby shower site into a genuine pumpkin patch by using a variety of pumpkin and jack-o-lantern décor. Your local dollar and craft store will be full of fall supplies, decorations and ideas that will make your job as hostess and decorator much easier.

Use novelty pumpkin tea lights, artificial pumpkins and pumpkin luminaries to make the room positively smashing. Make your own pumpkin luminaries with tin coffee cans, a hammer and nail, tea candles and black and orange acrylic paints. Paint terra cotta planters with orange and black paint to resemble a jack-o-lantern and fill planter with orange or yellow mums. Turn your ordinary pillows and picture frames into jack-o-lanterns with ease. Shop your local craft store for orange and black felt and some fabric glue. Wrap orange felt around pillows and secure with fabric glue. Cut the jack-o-lantern’s eyes, nose and mouth out of black felt. Use fabric glue to fasten the black felt cutouts onto the orange felt. Transform framed pictures and mirrors the same way. For glittery pumpkin decorations, buy plastic pumpkins, paint with tacky glue and cover with orange and gold glitter.

Serve your guests spooktacular treats such as pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, toasted pumpkin seeds and iced pumpkin shaped cookies. For something a little heartier, make cheeseburgers with jack-o-lantern cut outs in the cheese! Have your guests go on a pumpkin hunt. Plan a scavenger hunt by writing clues and tying them to stem’s of mini pumpkins. Divide guests into two teams and give each team a trick-or-treat bag to gather the pumpkins as they go. The first team to collect all of their pumpkins wins homemade pumpkin butter with the recipe attached.
