Halloween Baby Shower Theme - Mummy’s Baby Shower
Planning a baby shower in the month of October but want something different than pumpkins and ghost, here’s an original idea. Invite your guests to Mummy’s Baby Shower!
Set the scene for your guests before they even enter the party by playing a cassette of creepy Halloween sounds outside of the baby shower site. White balloons, hanging sheets of cheesecloth and gauze and mummy decorations bought at your local party supply store will make the room especially ghoulish. Build a crypt with black foam board and hot glue, made large enough to hold all of mummy’s presents. Decorate around the crypt with fall leaves, spider webs and plastic spiders. Serve blood red punch and mummy dogs – hot dogs wrapped in breadstick dough – to your guests. For a sweet treat make yummy mummy cupcakes. On top of a chocolate cup cake, pipe out strips of white icing for bandages and leave space for the eyes. Use yellow and black frosting for the eyes. Another ghoulishly good dessert is a graveyard cake. Make an iced sheet cake sprinkled with crushed Oreos for the dirt. Oval vanilla crème sandwich cookies make tombstones and candy pumpkins and gummy worms add the finishing touches.
Play “Mummy Knows Best,†a trivia game for the mother-to-be. Guests write a clue about themselves on a sheet of paper and the guest of honor does her best to figure out which clue describes which guest. Get the competition going by playing “Mummy’s Diaper.†Divide guest into two teams. Give each team several rolls of gauze. Each person has to wrap the gauze around themselves to make a diaper and then pass the gauze to the next team member. The team that finishes first gets mummy’s papered basket, full of luxurious bath items.
