Halloween Baby Shower Idea - Happy Haunted Shower

Turn your baby shower site into a spooky haunted house to create the setting for your Happy Haunted Shower. Use scary spider webs and plastic spiders throughout the site. Create your own floating ghosts with a white sheet, helium balloon tied to a weight, piece of ribbon and a black magic marker. Inflate balloon and tie it to a balloon weight. Make the room “glow” by replacing ordinary light bulbs with black bulbs. This will make anything white in the room appear to glow. Strobe lights also add an eerie effect to any room. What’s a haunted house without spooky noises? Find cassette tapes of creepy noises at your local party supply store to play during your shower. You can also make your own tape of moans, screams, and crackling laughter. Be sure to include the sound of babies crying, which for some moms-to-be is the scariest sound of them all! Place a large, black witch’s cauldron at the entrance of the site and use dry ice to make it a boiling pot of bewitching witch’s brew.

Don’t forget to pay attention to the outside of the shower site as well. Make frightening footsteps that lead to up to the entrance of the party. Create the footprints using a sponge and washable paint. Cut the sponge into a foot print shape and dip in paint. Sponge onto cement and flip the sponge upside down to stamp other foot. Have fun with your guests by dividing them into two groups to play “Scardy Pants.” Place each team in a dark room with a pile of pants. Close the door and see which team can get their pants on first! Winning team gets a gift card to a clothing store. Have a ghoulishly good time!
