Halloween Baby Shower Idea - Costume Baby Ball

Don’t wait until Halloween for a costume party; turn an ordinary baby shower into a Costume Baby Ball! On your baby shower invitations, tell guests to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costume. Have disposable cameras for all of your guests at the shower so they can have memories of the costumes and fun.

Your local dollar store and craft store will make decorating for your shower simple. Set the table with Halloween themed paper ware and bouquets of Mylar and latex orange and black balloons. Use mini pumpkins for balloon weights. Make arrangements of Halloween masks, wax teeth and wigs to place around the shower site. Set a frighteningly festive mood for guests when they arrive by transforming the outside of the baby shower site into a cemetery. Spray paint pieces of cardboard gray for tombstones and write funny sayings like, “Here lies Chuck – hit by a truck.” Place artificial spider webs and plastic spiders around outdoor lights and lampposts. Use templates and pumpkin carving tools to make decorative jack-o-lanterns. Carve a few pumpkins that read “welcome” and “Baby Ball” for a unique touch.

Play Halloween Trivia with your guests. Search for interesting Halloween facts on the Internet and write them on cards and place in a plastic pumpkin. Possible questions are: How many pounds of chocolate are given out each Halloween? What is the most popular Halloween costume? Divide guests into two teams and pick a member from each team to answer a question. Winning team receives goodie bags with homemade Halloween treats.

Create a boo-tiful candy table for your guests full of sweet snacks like candy corn, gummy pumpkins, Halloween Oreos, and Halloween M&M’s. Display treats in decorative bowls and plates. Enjoy your baby bash and have a spooktacular time!
