These days, showers are not just for the women and moms, but they can be for the dads and guys too. Mom can help dad enjoy the exciting time by planning and throwing a Two of a Kind party for dad and his friends in celebration of expecting twins. Based on a traditional “guys Friday poker night,” the Two of Kind party will be an evening of guys only card games and fun.

The women can help out by setting up the Two of a Kind party as a complete surprise. Often guys do not get to take part in some of the celebrations and showers leading up to the birth of the babies. Yet, women know that they too are excited and want to celebrate in their own way. Pick an evening and tell the dad-to-be to reserve it for “baby planning.” There is no way he will be able to say no, especially since you are having twins and there is a lot to do! But instead, tell of his best buddies to join him for a fun night of cards and “guy stuff” to celebrate the expected twins. The women can have some favorite foods on hand too, and get the card games and activities set up.

The party, however, can include some traditional shower elements, like gifts for instance. It is rare that the dads get in on the gifts, but it is fun to also be involved.
